I knew I would be selling at various markets within a 10x10 canopy. Over the course of two years, I discovered I wanted to focus on cookies and treats, not cakes or pastries. So, because I sell cookies out of a square; The Cookie Square was born!
My grandma inspired me as a young kid by teaching me how to bake. The kitchen was always busy during the Christmas season. She and her mother participated in farmers markets, and I wanted to continue the fun.
I began a home bakery in 2020 and created my business in 2024 and began participating in various markets within the Treasure Valley.
Decorated sugar cookies are the most popular item overall, and my Lemon Poppy Seed assorted cookies are top in their own category. It's my favorite cookie to eat along with my coffee. Yum!
Decorated sugar cookies are my favorite product to make because they are colorful, and give events that extra special touch.
I focus on decorated sugar cookies, and I enjoy working with clients to create a cookie set for their special event. I love being a part of something that brings a smile to another person's face.
Over this last year I've learned that there is a lot of love and support amongst small businesses within the community.
I'll be offering online sugar cookie decorating classes, and royal icing specific classes. This is expected to be completed by June of 2027. Working out the video end is taking me a bit of time, but if I get it sorted out sooner, You'll find out via my Facebook page.
Less is more. When I began selling at markets I believe I over did it with inventory. Too many options for people, too many displays to set up. Keeping it simple and small for my treats has really helped with both sales and time management.
